Welcome to the Elk Capital of Wisconsin – Clam Lake, Wisconsin
The Clam Lake Junction Hotel is located in The Elk Capital of Wisconsin – Clam Lake, WI! Our comfortable hotel rooms are in the heart of the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest where, in 1995, an initial herd of 25 elk were released back into Wisconsin’s Northwoods after a long absence.
Today, the Clam Lake herd has grown to an estimated size of over 300 elk and these majestic animals can regularly be viewed in the forests, roadways and trails surrounding Clam Lake. In the fall, you can often hear the bull elk bugling, too! Right out the front door of the hotel is an information kiosk with information about the Clam Lake elk herd.
It is a special experience to come across the elk while riding the beautiful snowmobile and ATV trails around Clam Lake. So keep your eyes peeled for these large animals while out on the trails!
We invite you book a great stay at the Clam Lake Junction on your next elk viewing adventure to Northern Wisconsin!
